CLINICAL DUTIES
• Perform biomechanical, fitness, and functional
assessments of clients entering the gym when direct

• Perform biweekly reassessment of client progress

• Provide assistance to supervising Physiotherapists
for treatment of clients • May provide assistance
to Physiotherapist in demonstrating or supervising exercise
programs • Ensure that the gym and treatment
areas are clean and tidy
• The Physiotherapist assistant/aide, will not attempt
or be allowed to do any activities or procedures other
than those which they have been thoroughly trained to
do (i.e. manual therapy, acupuncture, etc.). These activities
must be in accordance with the recommendations stated
by the College of Physiotherapists. A registered Physiotherapist
must be on site at all times when assistance in treatment
is being provided by support personnel.
DUTIES
• Assist Physiotherapists in performing various
components of treatment plans
• Perform various treatment as prescribed and
directed by the supervising Physiotherapist
• May help and assist clients by demonstrating
and supervising exercise programs (if Kinesiologist
is not present).
• Set up and prepare equipment and cleaning up
client treatments such as hot packs, ice etc., T.N.S.,
interferential current, and muscle stimulation.
• Ensure that the client gym and treatment area
are neat and tidy:
• Ensure beds, pillows are clean and tidy throughout
the day, especially after each client uses the bed.
1. Maintain ultrasound bottles must be kept full with
gel.
2. ?Maintain the various types of equipment in the clinic
such as cleansing out the ice pack and hydro collator
and refrigerator at regular intervals.
3. ?Make sure there is a good supply of towels on hand
throughout the day. Return used towels to the laundry
and clean when necessary.
• Cover for the receptionist (e.g. booking clients’
appointments) and other administrative duties as requested
by the Clinic Director or Office Manager
PRODUCTIVITY
• Assist Physiotherapists in achieving their
productivity standards by assisting with all aspects
of treatment when required.
