Rapid Access Assessments
Impairment Assessment
One on one with client and performed by a Registered acupuncturist / osteopathist:
• Establishes existence of a physical impairment.
• Determines suitability for treatment and recommends
the appropriate interventions
• Communication with the program sponsor to discuss assessment
recommendations
Insurer’s Examination
One on one with client and performed by a Registered acupuncturist / osteopathist:
• Assessment is a precursor for determining appropriate
treatment.
• Establishes existence of a physical impairment.
• Provides functional evaluation of the patient in relation
to the critical job demand in order to establish disability
• Identifies physical, vocational and behavioral barriers
to recovery
• Communication with the program sponsor to discuss assessment
recommendations
Psychological Consult
One on one with client and performed by a Registered Psychologist.
This assessment will provide a preliminary screen to determine
suitability for “Individualized Multi-disciplinary Pain
Rehabilitation” and establish psychological impairment.
Functional Abilities Evaluation
Specific Functional Abilities
Evaluation (2-Day FAE)
Assessment completed over 2 consecutive days. This assessment
compares functional abilities to job demands or pre-accident
functional duties.
• Physical demand analysis is required
• Functional evaluation of all job demands
• Evaluation on consistency of observed effort and abilities
• Establish existence of physical impairment and determines
disability based on reliable, standardized, and objective results
• Provides an extensive report with clear, concise results
and recommendations based on the client’s current physical
abilities
General Functional Abilities
Evaluation (1-Day FAE)
This assessment measures an individual’s current physical
abilities and does NOT attempt to compare the measured physical
abilities with the critical demands associated with a specific
job or set of functions. This assessment provides an extensive
report with clear, concise results and recommendations based
on the client’s current physical abilities.
This assessment is ideal for:
• Clients who are not employed
• Homemakers
• Students
• Retired persons

when pain has become the primary focus of the patient’s

This service is customized to meet the needs of clients who
have a poor prognosis and are typically defined as a challenge
to treat. These clients have often not responded well to singular
treatment approach.
The combination of behavioral restructuring together with functional
restoration, under the leadership of multi-disciplinary team
of health care professionals, provides the tools to assist the
client in resuming normal activities of daily living and work
activities.
This service is designed to provide effective approach
which includes:
• Graduated active physical conditioning
• Work hardening
• Cognitive behavioral pain management

In-Home Assessment
This assessment provides an objective assessment and analysis
of the patient’s current abilities, personal goals, essential
demands and limitations of his/her physical environment.
Foundation of this service includes:
• Specific interventions can involve implementation of
biomechanical postural training, analysis and management of
environmental barriers, injury prevention education, pain management
strategies, energy conservation / work simplification techniques,
provision of assistive equipment and adaptive modifications
and health promotion.
• Necessary for a safe return to pre-accident home or
work related function.
• The goal is to reduce the impact of injury and to identify
and resolve barriers to every day function.
Work Site Assessment
This assessment provides a job specific, objective evaluation
of actual, critical tasks of employment and methods of performance,
which considers environmental, physical, ergonomic and psycho-emotional
issues.
Foundation of this service includes:
• Return to work planning and coordination
• Work re-integration and coordination of transitional
work programs
• Job coaching at the work site
